About Kevin

Kevin is a General Surgery resident at Duke University Medical Center and a Clinical Ethics Fellow at the Trent Center for Bioethics, Humanities, and History of Medicine. He grew up attending Minnesota’s public schools and graduated from Yale University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in History of Science and History of Medicine, completing premedical coursework. He earned his M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine in 2021, where he worked as an anatomy tutor for first-year students. At Duke, he was named a Teaching Scholar, teaching medical students in the General Surgery clerkship and preparing them for the NBME Surgery Shelf Exam.

Kevin has extensive experience with standardized exams, starting with the ACT at age 12, and including the SAT, SAT Subject Tests, MCAT, USMLE Steps 1-3, and NBME Shelf Exams in Surgery, Medicine, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and OB/GYN. As a Clinical Ethics Fellow since 2024, his current research investigates the moral formation of the surgeon. Based in Durham, North Carolina, Kevin offers tutoring services based on his academic and clinical background, assisting learners from high school students to medical residents.

About Eliel

Eliel Ig-Izevbekhai is an admissions consultant, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was admitted to 6 Ivy League colleges before graduating from Harvard with a BS in Neuroscience. He was then accepted into several of the country’s top medical schools. Eliel uses his unique blend of experiences, including management consulting and startup work, to help students from diverse backgrounds succeed in the admissions process.

Eliel has extensive experience mentoring students over the years. He ran his college admissions exam tutoring service, helping every student improve their test scores. He led a mentorship program for youth in the Boston area, cultivating a passion for guiding students through the admissions process. His work as an exam tutor allowed him to develop effective teaching strategies, and his leadership in youth mentorship taught him how to connect with young students and build a curriculum that strengthens their college candidacy.

Eliel draws on his varied experiences to ensure his students have the skills and strategies they need to become strong undergraduate and medical school candidates. He understands the power students can wield in the admissions office when properly guided and works to create a safe and empathetic environment where they can push beyond their limits. With Eliel’s encouragement, students can use their skills and intellect to find their voices.
